" Good sound, unusual for the Netherlands "

"... and the good music makes the film complete"

'18' is a film by Jelle van Doornik about an adolescent (Koen) who grows to maturity. Because the dialogues and acting are rather over the top we chose a caricatural style. The sound creates a cartoon-like atmosphere, the music adds some extra drama, or on the contrary makes it very light.

Ther are, broadly speaking 3 musicstyles recognizable in the film:

1. Open and airy, a bit trippy to support Colette's character
2. Quick and jazzy, for scenes that move fast
3. Dramatic, for the emotional blows later in the film

With the sound, Bart made a humorous counterweight by supporting the camera movements with cartoon-like sounds and exaggerating the general sound.

Critical acclaim: VPRO-magazine talked about the sound and music positivly in its review of the film. " Very nice filming and with good sound, which is sadly unusual for the Netherlands". ".... and the good music completes the film "
